Applicant must be enrolled in, or have recently completed a Machine Tool Technology Program, with an interest in pursuing a career in manufacturing.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW –
If selected, the intern will spend time shadowing technicians in each department of our manufacturing facility, performing basic tasks as they relate to their coursework and current abilities.
The intern will gain insight into all of the processes involved in manufacturing machined parts and assemblies, from receiving raw materials, through machining, finishing, quality control, and shipping of finished products.
The student will receive a holistic experience of what they can expect from a career in high end machining and modern manufacturing – touching on CNC turning/milling set up and operation, finishing processes, quality control through the aid of CMM and precision measuring instruments, and interpretation of technical drawings and general shop documentation.
The position will be part time days, and run for a predetermined length – dependent on the student’s coursework requirements.
Pay to be $12.00 – $16.00 per hour, depending on the level of courses completed and any previous related experience.
